This first balcony scene takes place at the beginning of the night, shown in this quote: â€Å" But soft, what light through yonder window breaks? It is the east, and Juliet is the sun† (2.ii.69). This quote shows that there is still a little bit of light left outside, but that the sun (referred to as Juliet) is setting in the west, meaning it is going down.
